 In 2019, my country's 5G enters the first year of commercial use.   In the construction of optical communication networks, on the one hand, due to the continuous increase in the demand for optical fiber access, the number of optical fibers accommodated by a single optical cable has increased significantly, and the volume of the optical cable needs to be expanded accordingly; on the other hand, the existing pipe network resources that carry optical cables are relatively limited. It also limits the volume of a single optical cable, which places higher requirements on the design and manufacture of conventional optical fiber and cable products.

  Micro-tube fiber optic cable with large core count, promising

  As the existing network expansion, pipeline network channel transformation and upgrading, and the comprehensive demand for new high-speed network construction such as data centers, high-rise buildings, large venues, and transportation hubs, continue to rise, the mainstream market is looking for higher fiber core density and larger core number optical cable products. The trend of new optical cables is becoming stronger and stronger, and new optical cables will develop in the direction of super large core count, super high density, super flexibility, etc. The large core count micro-bundle tube optical cable is favored by European customers because of its convenient construction and small outer diameter. At present, most of the micro-bundle tube fiber optic cable products commonly used in the market are concentrated in the structure of 288 cores or less, and the core density is relatively low. In 2019, a large number of Guangdong 432-core large-core micro-bundle tube outdoor optical cables were used in Europe. In June 2020, the European Big T even used 864-core high-density large-core micro-bundle tube optical cable products.

  The 864-core micro-bundle tube optical cable has a diameter of only about 22mm. The optical fiber assembly density is more than 1.25 times higher than that of the same type of traditional fiber loose tube structure optical cable, and it is more than 1.6 times higher than that of the optical fiber ribbon structure optical cable, which can save tubes to the greatest extent. Net resources; its micro-beam tube unit is easy to strip, convenient construction, and can effectively improve construction efficiency; the tensile force value of the product can reach more than 4000N, fully ensuring that the optical cable is not damaged by external tension during the construction process. This kind of optical cable meets the requirements of 110mm diameter bending and 220mm diameter U-shaped bending, ensuring that the optical cable can calmly deal with various twists and turns in a complex pipe network environment, thereby fully guaranteeing communication quality. In the extreme cold environment of -40°C and the high temperature environment of +70°C, this series of products can ensure good working conditions, without fear of extreme weather conditions.

At present, only a handful of international fiber optic cable suppliers have large-scale mass production capabilities for high fiber density and large core count fiber optic cables, and are in a market monopoly position. The high-fiber-density structural fiber optic cable products of major domestic manufacturers are basically in their infancy, with low technological maturity. The actual fiber density, mass production scale and key indicators are still far from the international leading level.
